A beautiful pair of ruby and sapphire earrings from the mid 20th century, c1940! Made of silver gilt, the earrings feature a ruby and sapphire blossom atop of swirling leaf motifs. The natural ruby and sapphire stones are round cabochon cut, displaying lovely cornflower blue hue's which contrast nicely with vibrant pinkish red tones centrally. Each have lovely transparencies with natural internal inclusions indicative of earth mined material (and some with surface reaching inclusions). Clips attach to the back. No stamps are sighted to the earrings, tests indicate silver gilt. The earrings measure 2.40cm long x 1.60cm wide. Asian origin.

The condition of the vintage earrings is very good. Besides normal surface wear, the earrings remain bright with little tarnish or gilding wear. Stones appear secure, and clips work well. A wonderful pair of vintage earrings! |
