A stunning antique lady's pocket - or pendant - watch from the Art Nouveau era, c1910! Made of 14ct gold, the antique timepiece is hand engraved with a very beautiful organic floral design against an engine turned background. The double-sided engraved design is near identical except the front features a small unmonogrammed shield - perhaps where your initials beckon!? An ornate engraved pattern embellishes the sides of the case.
A top push lever opens the front lid to reveal the antique-white face with black roman numerals, sub-seconds dial and gold spade hands. Hand painted with "ELGIN J.M WENDT ADELAIDE MADE IN U.S.A." the ladies pocket watch was made in the USA and imported for sale by South Australia's largest jewellery firms, JM Wendt, then later Wendts Jewellers, operating until the end of the 20th century.
The original ELGIN 7- Jewel mechanical movement works well, keeping reasonable time within a 12-hour period. It is crown wound and set. Albeit the antique pocket watch has not had a recent service so there are no guarantees for accurate timing.
The case lid and movement plate cover are stamped for 14K (.585) gold guarantee, along with 'The K.W.C.CO' Keystone watch case company markings, and case number '5199630'.
The pocket watch measures 33mm across and 48mm total drop with O ring.

The condition of the pocket watch is good - the only flaw to note is that the back hinge to lid is broken, albeit the lid closes securely once snapped into place. Otherwise, the pocket watch is in excellent order with no dings, or any other damages seen |
