A fabulous upcycled Tiger's Eye pendant necklace from the 20th century! Made of sterling silver and rescued and repurposed from a mid century brooch this one-of-a-kind necklace fits right into modern-day wear! The stunning Tiger's Eye chalcedony stone features wonderful chatoyancy with earthy contrasting 'golden' bands which form diagonally across the stone. Aesthetically striking! The nice sized 43mm x 24mm oval Tiger's Eye slab displays a 'silky' and smooth buff top profile and rests within an ornate filigree border. Rings are firmly affixed to the filigree work which a later sterling silver trace chain secures from, amalgamating beautifully. The overall length of the necklace is 27" inches (68cm), the longer length allowing the necklace to easily slip on and over the head. No clasp is attached.
Ancient Egyptians believed that Tiger's Eye stone provided the wearer with luck and protection, and it is said that the early inhabitants of Sri Lanka used Tiger's Eye as a talisman!
A gorgeous everyday wear necklace, lovely layered with other favorite necklaces, or just as nice worn alone!

The overall condition of the vintage necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear and tiny bit of missing filigree work (which does not affect the overall aesthetics of the piece) the pendant and necklace are in great order, ready to wear! |
